Research
Funding by the National Fragile X Foundation
The National Fragile X Foundation (NFXF) funds basic science,
clinical and translational research. Projects are scored by members
of our Scientific and Clinical Advisory Committee based on the
criteria noted in the Request For Applications.
The Scientific and Clinical Advisory Committee (SCAC) of the
National Fragile X Foundation is comprised of 25-30 members from
a variety of disciplines, organizations, institutions and countries.
Once the NFXF Board of Directors has voted to approve a research
budget, these scientists and clinicians have complete and final
authority in the awarding of research grants. Under the leadership
of the SCAC co-chair, the application reviewers are selected
based on their particular expertise and only after it has been
determined that they have no conflict of interest nor are associated
with any of the proposals.
The National Fragile X Foundation welcomes all inquiries from
potential researchers and institutions.
