Here are examples of useful web links for teachers. We hope to have quite a good set of these up on the website soon, so do let me know if you have suggestions. These particular links have free
downloads:
http://www.readinga-z.com/newfiles/preview.html You can download some free sample readers, one from each reading level that this program
uses. These have short simple text along with high-interest photos.
http://www.mrsperkins.com/dolch.htm Dolch word lists for teachers to download. Many children who
have FXS first learn to read using sight reading methods. The initial focus is on words frequently encountered in written English, such as the Dolch word list.

You can generate and print out your own flash cards, bingo cards, word searches, etc. using Dolch word lists and other word lists (animal names, geography and science topics, etc.)

Teachers.net has a lesson plan bank, with a handful of suggestions for Special Education. Other lessons are organized by academic topic.

CENTER ON ACCESSING THE GENERAL CURRICULUM: In a collaborative agreement with the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Programs (OSEP), CAST has established a National Center on Accessing the General Curriculum to
provide a vision of how new curricula, teaching practices, and policies can be woven together to create practical approaches for improved access to the general curriculum by students with disabilities.
